A Letter from Robert & Petra
Hi! We’re Robert and Petra and we, along with our two sons, Jackson and Sterling, are excited to tell you a bit about us! We love playing outdoors, watching Anime, UNO family game nights, and building community relationships. We also love a good water gun fight!! We are strong supporters of education, community engagement, and nurturing the unique gifts and talents we each have.
Over 9 years ago we began praying about our desire to expand our family through adoption and we are excited to finally begin this journey. We look forward to getting to know you and to sharing our love for reading, exploring, and family with your child.
We met at a church conference and within one week of dating we knew it was a “forever thing”! We have been married for almost 8 years now and enjoy traveling, watching Anime together, eating good food (especially seafood!), doing home renovation projects, learning new things, and spending time with our friends and family. We are also huge readers and love to spend time in our favorite bookstore with our boys who always love to explore, laugh, and try new things. We all love to spend time together as a family and enjoy any chance we get to make fun family memories together. We are excited to share our lives with your daughter and teach her all about the importance of family and helping others.
Robert is an incredibly funny, smart, and hardworking man. Not to mention an amazing cook and support system. Best combo. His love for Christ magnifies every good quality that he has and helps him to grow every day. With all that he has accomplished, his humility and concern for helping others is a reflection of his relationship with God. He loves trying new recipes, being outside and playing with the boys, landscaping, tech projects, and serving on our church’s AV team. Everything that he learns he pours back into our sons by raising them to be proud of who they are and the unique gifts they each have. He is excited to do the same for our daughter.
Petra is beautiful, patient, and kind and she makes everyone and everything around her better. She is able to truly “see” people and recognizes the unstated needs of her family and friends. She is firmly rooted in Christ and has a passion for encouraging and building up women in our community. Even while cheering for others, Petra maintains a family-first perspective. She enjoys reading, playing a variety of games with our sons, and loves anything with avocados. She is the great deliverer of hugs and kisses in our home which provides our boys with a sense of value, trust, and confidence to be who God created them to be. She is excited to share her love with our daughter and teach her to be a strong independent woman of faith.
Our home is at the end of a cul-de-sac with large front and back yards that are perfect for running and exploring. Most of our neighbors have young children and all of the kids like to get together riding bikes, playing, and racing. We love our neighborhood because it has a pool, is close to A-rated schools, playgrounds, parks, hiking trails, and other activities. Our home has 4 bedrooms and plenty of room for all manner of fun and games. You will often hear laughter or catch a dance party happening in this house!
Our oldest, Jackson, is incredibly loving, patient, bright, and creative. He is a great big brother, always looks out for others, loves to play video games, and enjoys going for runs with his dad and brother through our neighborhood.
Our youngest, Sterling, has the best sense of humor, loves the outdoors, and enjoys any activity that lets him get dirty, including homemade science projects. He also loves to dress up as Batman and “save” all of us from the bad guys.
Our boys are so excited to be big brothers. They look forward to teaching their sister all of their dance moves as well as doing science experiments, exploring, and playing games together!
We have a very close-knit family and we enjoy spending Sunday afternoons with our parents having family dinner after church. It is one of the boys’ favorite things to do every week! That and their mid-week sleepover with the grands. We also love to celebrate the major holidays with our extended families. One of our favorite holiday traditions is to have a birthday cake and sing “happy birthday” to Jesus on Christmas Eve and then enjoy holiday movies and sweets, including hot chocolate and Petra’s mom’s famous cinnamon coffee cake. Our entire family is excited to welcome your little one!
We promise to raise your daughter in a home filled with love, faith, fun, laughter, opportunity, and joy. We will be her biggest advocates as we promote education, encourage creativity, nurture her individual voice and support her dreams. She will grow up knowing she is loved by us, by you, and God. We are happy to include you in whatever way is most comfortable for you- photos, letters, or visits.

More About Our Family
Our Special Interests
Robert enjoys reading, exercise, playing outside with the kids, and tech/business stuff.
We are a strong Christian family and very active in our local church. Petra is a leader in the worship ministry and Rob serves on the audiovisual team. Together we lead our small group ministry for our church and love the close interaction it gives us to other families of faith. It is our strong belief that loving God requires that we love people by doing our best to serve those in need, so we focus our active faith in that area. We have family prayer nightly and also encourage our children to lead the Lord's Prayer. This foundation of faith has been important in strengthening our family.
Our Musical Interests
We love music! From old school gospel to 90's R&B to rap. We also appreciate the anime theme songs and Disney classic shows theme songs.
About Our Home
We live in a 4 bedroom home in a great family neighborhood. We also have a large front and back yard that is perfect for playing outside and exploring.
Our oldest son, Jackson, is incredibly loving, patient, empathetic, bright, and creative. He is a great big brother who always looks out for others and tries to see the good in everyone. He always makes new friends wherever he goes and we love to hear his thoughts on social life as a little person. One of his favorite pastimes is to learn new video games and run with his dad and brother through our neighborhood.
Sterling has the best sense of humor and the most protective personality. He loves the outdoors and any type of activity that lets him get dirty, including homemade science projects. He is curious about everything and asks as many questions as possible. He also loves to dress up as Batman and "save" all of us from the bad guys.
We live on a cul-de-sac that has access to parks and other activities. Our street has numerous families of different sizes, ages, races, and ethnicity. We love hanging out with our neighbors in the evenings after work, as an extension of our community family.
